Township trustees and Teamsters Local 377 representing the township road department agreed on a three-year contract with no raises.

The agreement was signed at a trustees meeting Monday night at the township building.

There are five employees in the road department and a superintendent. Wage rate per hour is $21.34 for working foreman, $19.73 for operator, $18.30 for truck driver and $17.24 for laborer

The local will switch from the township’s health-care insurance plan to a Teamsters Local 377 sponsored group health-insurance plan. That will go into effect as soon as administratively possible with no lapse in coverage.

Full-time employees hired before Jan. 1, 2011, will receive longevity pay in accordance with the 2008-10 collective-bargaining agreement. Those hired after Dec. 31,2010, after completing five years of full-time service, will get longevity pay. Annual longevity pay is $60 times the number of years of full-time service with the road department. It will be calculated for each employee on the anniversary of the employee’s hire date.

All full-time employees will get an annual uniform allowance of $250.

Police and fire contracts are headed to binding arbitration.
