Brett McClanahan scored 18, Darryl Roberts added 17 and Quincy Diggs had 16 to lead Akron in a blowout. The Zips (16-10, 7-5 Mid-American Conference) led 41-23 at halftime and started the second half on a 37-15 run, extending their lead to 78-38 with 8:08 remaining. Akron shot 58.6 percent from the floor (17 of 29), including 9 of 15 from 3-point range (60 percent) in the second half compared to 27.8 percent overall (10 of 36) for the Falcons. A’uston Calhoun scored 18 points and Scott Thomas added 10 for Bowling Green (12-14, 7-5). McClanahan, Roberts and Diggs went 11 for 15 from beyond the arc (73.3 percent). Nikola Cvetinovic pulled down 11 rebounds for Akron.

Ohio 76, Buffalo 69

BUFFALO, N.Y.

Ivo Baltic and D.J. Cooper scored 24 points apiece and Ohio overcame an 11-point deficit to beat Buffalo and split the season series. The Bobcats (13-13, 6-6 Mid-American Conference) shot 73.9 percent in the second half (17 of 23) after trailing 22-11 with 8:07 to go in the first half and 32-24 at halftime.

Ball State 83, Toledo 62

MUNCIE, Ind.

Freshman Chris Bond recorded his first double-double to lead Ball State. Bond finished with a career-high 18 points and 10 rebounds to go along with five steals, and the Cardinals (15-10, 7-5 Mid-American Conference) completed a season sweep of the Rockets. Jauwan Scaife added 17 points and Jarrod Jones had 14. Reese Holliday matched Bond with 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Malcolm Griffin had 13 points for Toledo (4-22, 1-11), which lost its eighth straight.

Western Michigan 77, Northern Illinois 65

DEKALB, Ill.

Flenard Whitfield had a double-double to lead Western Michigan. Whitfield scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in his sixth double-double for the Broncos (7-4, 14-10), who lead the Mid-American Conference West. Mike Douglas led the Broncos with 16 points. Demetrius Ward hit double figures for the ninth straight game, adding 15. But his streak of free throws ended at 35 when he missed in the second half. Juwan Howard Jr. scored 12.
