CANFIELD

Danny Campolito’s 31 points included 10 3-pointers. Ty Mettille scored 22 points for the Cardinals (5-11, 4-2 All-American Conference Red Tier). For the Beavers (0-19, 0-7), Tory Hudson led with 21 points. Tyler Schultz and Zack mick each scored 13 points while Ryan Smith had 10.

Howland 55, Niles 53

HOWLAND

Senior Dante Dawson had a season-tying 22 points for Howland, which clinched the AAC Red Tier outright title — the Tigers’ first league title in boys basketball since the 1980-81 season. T.J. Lanier added 19 points for Howland (12-6, 7-1), whose only Red Tier loss was to Canfield. Ray Russ’ 17 points led Niles (8-11, 2-5).

Lordstown 45, Bristol 33

LORDSTOWN

Lordstown trailed, 30-28, heading into the fourth quarter, but made an adjustment to keep its offensive rebounds out of Bristol’s hands. The change enabled the Red Devils to outscore Bristol, 17-3, in the final period. Steven Cribley, Zack Wells and Mike Shaffer had 14, 13 and 11 points, respectively, for Lordstown (10-8, 7-4 NAC). Andrew Holko’s 11 points paced Bristol, which made seven of its nine first-half goals off of defensive rebounds on Lordstown’s glass. Early in December, Lordstown won by two points at Bristol.

Newton Falls 51, Champion 29

CHAMPION

Cody Dillon led the Tigers (13-4, 3-3 AAC Blue) with 15 points. Shawn Haines had 12 points and Dale Kernen 10. For the Golden Flashes (2-16, 1-7), Wes Weber and Matt Heiligenberg each netted seven points.

Jackson-Milton 46, Lisbon 34

NORTH JACKSON

Bobby Schnellbach scored a game-high 21 points and added a dozen rebounds for the BlueJays. John Gherardi added 11 points for Jackson-Milton (9-8). Lisbon was paced by Zach Rovnak’s 14 points. Zac Barnes added nine pints for the Blue Devils (3-15).

McDonald 68, Sebring 49

SEBRING

Justin Rota and Nick Rota both had 21 points for the Blue Devils (16-0, ITCL Tier Two 12-0). Senior Aaron VanKirk had 13 points and five blocks, while Tyler Whitlatch had 12 points and senior Seamus Johnson 11 points for Sebring (11-6, 7-6 ITCL Tier Two).

East Palestine 49, Chaney 48

EAST PALESTINE

Brett Foreman paced the Bulldogs (14-3) with 14 points. Joel Gedeon and Adam Robb each scored 11. Robb also made 14 rebounds.For the Cowboys (2-13), Phillip Hudson led with 21 points, followed by Deontae Scott with 11 and Maqrquise Stoutemire with 10.

South Range 79, Leetonia 54

LEETONIA

Andy Lacefield scored 17 points and Dan Good 16 for the Raiders (12-4). Brandon Pluchinsky’s 15 points included three 3-pointers. For the Bears (2-16), Cody Stokes scored 14 points and made 15 rebounds. Nick Altomare scored 13 points while Alex Maltbie contributed nine points and five rebounds.

Malvern 62, United 37

HANOVERTON

For the Golden Eagles (5-12), Kyle Smallwood led with nine points. Travis Tucci scored 15 for Malvern.

Lowellville 66, Mathews 53

VIENNA

A second quarter run put Lowellville ahead for good. Anthony Alfano scored 10 of his team-high 21 points in the second quarter as the Rockets outscored the Mustangs 25-14. Lowellville led 33-24 at the half. Andy Morgan had a game-high 27 for Mathews, including 6-of-6 at the foul line. Dean Donatelli added 18 for the Rockets, who snapped their only two-game losing skid this season.

Ursuline 59, Akr. Kenmore 54

AKRON

Senior DeVonte Jenkins had 16 points and 14 rebounds while senior Khiree Gregory added 14 points for the Irish (12-5). Ryan Strollo made 5 of 6 free throws to seal the outcome. Antonio Herns’ 22 points and Travon Ambrose’s 15 rebounds paced Kenmore (7-11), which out-rebounded Ursuline, 36-33.

Youngstown Christian 65, Heritage Christian 46

YOUNGSTOWN

Devaun Adams led the Eagles (9-9 with 13 points while Anthony Walker scored 10.

GIRLS

Canfield 80, Niles 28

NILES

Canfield took control with a 43-11 halftime lead in the AAC Red Tier game. Sabrina Mangapora’s 14 points paced four Cardinals in double figures. Katie Hitchings and Rachel Sussman combined for 16 points for Niles.
