Home health nurse stole necklace, police say

BEAVER, Pa. (AP) — Police have charged a home health care nurse with stealing a gold necklace from around the neck of a sick woman and giving it to her boyfriend, who sold it at a business that buys gold.

Twenty-seven-year-old Jamie Boop, of Monaca, faces a preliminary hearing March 8 on theft and other charges stemming from the incident last year in Brighton Township.

Police say they traced the necklace to Boop after her boyfriend sold it at the Gold Buyers kiosk at the Beaver Valley Mall in August. Police say the boyfriend told him Boop had given him the necklace.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for Boop who doesn’t have a listed phone.

Police tell the Beaver County Times the necklace is worth about $800.
