‘Vagina Monologues’ at Shenango campus

SHARON, PA.

Penn State Shenango’s Drama Club will present a benefit production of Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 26 in the Shenango campus auditorium on Shenango Avenue in downtown Sharon.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students. Proceeds will go to AWARE, the Mercer County Center against Domestic and Sexual Violence, and to V-Day, a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls with an emphasis this year on the women of Haiti.

“The Vagina Monologues” was assembled from more than 200 interviews with women around the world who reveal their thoughts about gender, love, marriage and sexuality, and their experiences of rape, incest and abuse. The monologues range from the hilarious to tragic and will be performed as a staged reading by more than a dozen students, faculty and community members. Co-directors of the monologues are Jamie Calhoun, instructor in English and comparative literature, and Shenango campus student Holly Vuich.

‘Glee’ in concert at The Q arena

Pink’s hot dogs at Cedar Point
