Brother charged in teen's shooting at mall near Columbus
COLUMBUS (AP) — An Ohio teen has been charged with shooting his younger brother in the head in front of shoppers at a mall with many upscale stores.
Columbus police said in a news release today that they charged 16-year-old Andrew Kelley with one count of felonious assault in the shooting Saturday night at busy Easton Town Center. It wasn’t immediately clear if the teen has an attorney.
His 15-year-old brother, Andrake Kelley, remained hospitalized in critical condition today.
Police say the shooting in an outdoor area of the shopping center followed some sort of dispute at the Apple Store.
Easton is located about eight miles northeast of downtown Columbus. Its tenants include upscale retailers such as Tiffany & Co. and Nordstrom, as well as more typical mall chains like Abercrombie & Fitch.
