YSU Women’s Club offers scholarships

The application deadline is Feb. 25 for the Youngstown State University Women’s Club and Martha K. Shuster YSU student scholarships.

The YSU Women’s Club Scholarships, funded by the YSU Foundation endowment, member donations and fundraising efforts, are awarded annually based primarily on academic performance and need.

This year, five $1,000 Women’s Club Scholarships will be awarded. Involvement with community organizations, YSU academic activities and a personal essay also are considered.

In addition, three $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually in honor of the wife of Dr. Raymond Shuster, Martha, a past YSU Women’s Club president. Academic performance is the primary requirement used in the selection process.

The YSU Women’s Club, founded in 1968, promotes YSU and provides scholarships to YSU students. The club also identifies community needs and the resources to meet those needs by cultivating social relationships and the opportunity for intellectual improvement.

The YSU Women’s Club is open to all university- affiliated women, including current and retired female employees and the wives, widows and female life/ domestic partners of current or retired employees.
