The International Institute Fund is accepting grant applications from 501 (c)(3) organizations in Trumbull and Mahoning counties.

The fund, part of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, is looking for applicants who work to promote interest and understanding between natives and foreigners in the region. More information can be found at www.cfmv.org. Applications must be postmarked by March 4.

Economic Forecast Breakfast planned

SHARON

The Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce will host an Economic Forecast Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Feb. 22 at the Radisson Hotel-Sharon in West Middlesex, Pa.

Guest speaker will be Mark Hendrickson, adjunct professor of economics at Grove City College and fellow for economic and social policy at the Center for Vision and Values.

Career workshop on health-care jobs

YOUNGSTOWN

NEO HealthForce, an organization that focuses on work-force shortages in the health industry, is sponsoring a career workshop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Jewish Community Center in Youngstown.

Health-care professionals will talk about their careers, and the education and training necessary for jobs in the industry.

Representatives from local schools and colleges will discuss offered coursework, ranging from certificate courses to four-year degrees. Financial aid information will also be available. For information, call Danita Logan at 330-965-1787, ext. 7115.

Hearing center moves to new site

BOARDMAN

The Centers for Hearing Care is moving its Boardman office to a new location after more than 15 years in its previous quarters.

The audiology practice will open its new facility at 126 York Ave. at 2 p.m. Monday. The 2,900-square-foot-building, near the Southern Park Mall, is handicapped accessible and includes a soundproof room certified by the American National Standards Institute.

The practice was formerly at 1032 Boardman-Canfield Road.

The Centers for Hearing Care has six offices in the Youngstown-Warren area with five doctors, one licensed audiologist and two doctoral interns.

The practices diagnose and treat all hearing impairments.
