YBPW member wins speech competition

For the third year in a row, a member of Youngstown Business and Professional Women is advancing to the state level in a speech competition.

Gina Vicarel, of Struthers, won the Virginia Allen Young Careerist competition on Feb. 5.

Vicarel will advance to the state competition in April, representing Region 3 of the following three chapters: Youngstown, Ohio Valley/Steubenville and Columbiana.

The competition involves a timed speech and a comprehensive interview by a panel of judges.

Vicarel, a 2003 graduate of Youngstown State University, is employed by Randstad Work Solutions in Warren. She also helps to support the Scleroderma Association and the American Cancer Society, and she serves on the Warren YWCA Young Women’s Leadership Board.
