Students, staff, and family of St. Charles School gathered on Feb. 4 to honor the school’s winning teams at the annual winter rally.
“We love all of our teams here at St. Charles. We’re here to unite not only in sports, but to support our academic teams as well,” said St. Charles principal Mary Welsh.
The eighth-grade academic team and boys and girls basketball teams were recognized for their efforts. The St. Charles cheerleaders of each grade performed at the rally to raise some school spirit.
The school really got excited when the academic and sports teams of every grade were asked to rise for a round of applause. Custom cheers by the Lions cheerleaders were chanted, while the school’s Math 24, Power of the Pen, English Festival and robotics teams were celebrated for their hard work.
St. Charles cheer coach Lisa Jordan is responsible for organizing the Winter Rally.
“When I started coaching the cheer squad here 12 years ago, I made it a point to teach my girls that raising spirit should be for everyone, not just sports. Our whole school has so many wonderful accomplishments and activities. We’re here to celebrate it all.”
