The Boardman High School Alumni Association is requesting nominations for its second annual Distinguished Alumni Award. Nominations are due March 15 and are available online at www.boardmanalumni.org or by e-mailing boardmanalumni@gmail.com. The award will be presented in May.

Lakeview Schools will be accepting open enrollment applications beginning Feb. 28 and continuing through March 18.

Conferences planned

The city schools will have spring parent-teacher conferences for kindergarten through 12th grade from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday. There will be no classes Friday.

All parents are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to meet and talk with their children’s teachers.

Enrollment period

The McDonald Local School District is accepting applications for open enrollment for kindergarten through 12th grade. Application packets may be picked up in the superintendent’s office at the high school building between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays.

The district offers all-day kindergarten and enforces a strict dress code. The high school has had an excellent rating for the past six years and the graduation rate has been more than 97 percent for the past five years.
