House allowed to burn on East Side


YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown Fire Department is investigating a blaze that destroyed a house at 764 Fairfax St. at 12:32 a.m. Saturday.

Firefighters arrived to see the two-story house fully on fire.

The structure was allowed to burn as a safety measure.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Loss was estimated at $5,000.

A woman’s name was listed in the report but it was not clear if she was the owner or a renter.
