Cavs’ Varejao has surgery

CLEVELAND

Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao had successful surgery to repair a torn tendon in his right ankle.

The team said in a statement that the procedure was performed Saturday by Dr. Robert Andrews in Charlotte, N.C. Varejao suffered the season-ending injury during practice on Jan. 6.

The Cavaliers say Varejao will spend the next three to four months resting and rehabilitating the injured ankle.
