Jan. 21

Theft: An MP3 player and related items, and two packs of cigarettes were stolen from a vehicle at the Southern Park Mall.

Burglary: Three bottles of liquor and an Xbox console were missing from a home in the 6600 block of Bristlewood Drive someone had entered through the front door.

Theft: Michael J. Malagisi, 28, of 3838 Cumberland Drive, Austintown, was charged in the theft of Sony PlayStation 3 and Xbox items from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.

Arrest: Police were called to St. Elizabeth Health Center’s Boardman Campus, where they charged 61-year-old Gregory A. Vorshak, 5511 Youngstown-Poland Road, Poland, with criminal trespassing. Vorshak became belligerent and refused to leave his wife’s room after the two insisted she be released, a report said.

Menacing: A woman reported being threatened with harm at a Boardman-Canfield Road business.

Felonious assault/auto theft: A Glendale Avenue woman alleged her boyfriend held a large knife to her throat, then stole her 2001 Pontiac Sunfire. Charges were pending.

Theft: Johnda C. Harvey, 27, of 925 Belvedere Ave., Warren, was charged with stealing about $120 worth of merchandise from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive. Harvey, who also was wanted on a warrant, faced additional charges of forgery and obstructing official business when, police said, she admitted having provided a fake driver’s license and identity to avoid arrest on the warrant.

Domestic violence: A 13-year-old township boy was charged with the crime and taken to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center, Youngstown, after his mother alleged the teen had punched her jaw when she awakened him for school.

Robbery: Authorities booked 31-year-old Joseph L. Addison on a robbery charge after $455 worth of clothing had been stolen from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall. Addison, of Silver Spring, Md., assaulted and injured a store official who tried to apprehend him, a report showed.

Harassment: A Charles Avenue woman reported getting three calls claiming she had won $2 million.

Bad check: A Youngstown woman reportedly tried to cash a fraudulent $2,960 check at Checksmart, 112 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A $250 monitor was stolen from Babies R Us, the Baby Super Store, 1240 Doral Drive.

Burglary: Took place in the 5000 block of Sheban Drive by unknown means. Stolen was a $4,000 diamond ring.

Recovered property: Police found a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire in the 7000 block of West Boulevard after a Boardman woman had reported it stolen.

Jan. 22

Domestic violence: Police went to the Trumbull Correctional Institution, Warren, to serve a warrant to 32-year-old Mark H. Arnoto, 2170 Monroe St., Salem, after his former wife, of Charles Avenue, alleged Arnoto had made various threats against her.

Theft: Two bottles of perfume were stolen from Sears, resulting in charges against a New Waterford girl, 13, and a 14-year-old Columbiana girl.

Domestic violence: Police charged Jeffrey J. Bradian Jr., 35, of 148 Melbourne Ave., Boardman, with the crime and he also was wanted on a warrant charging him with theft. Bradian admitted having struck his brother in the head, authorities said.

Arrest: Police on Market Street picked up 26-year-old Ama-Efura Dodson, 539 Falls Ave., Youngstown, who was wanted on a warrant from Campbell.

Drug paraphernalia: Robert W. Hill, 43, of 539 New Court Drive, Youngstown, was cited at a township motel after police said a suspected crack pipe and suspected marijuana debris were found in a room.

Arrest: A traffic stop near West Midlothian Boulevard resulted in 20-year-old Brittney N. Taylor’s arrest. Taylor, of 459 W. Judson Ave., Youngstown, was wanted on a probation-violation count.

Theft by deception: Two subwoofers a man had bought at Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road, were returned to the store before it was discovered someone had replaced the items with cheaper ones.

Misuse of a credit card: A Glenwood Avenue woman noticed $400 to $500 worth of unauthorized charges to her debit card.

Theft: Danielle L. Rosier, 26, of 266 S. High St., Cortland, was charged with stealing seven DVDs from Walmart.

Theft: A 16-year-old city boy faced charges of theft and obstructing official business after $35 worth of merchandise was stolen from Macy’s. The teen also lied about his identity, officers said.

Jan. 23

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a storage garage in the 6800 block of Lockwood Boulevard and damaged drywall.

Theft: A $40 comforter was removed from Family Dollar, 4028 South Ave.

Theft: A $500 car stereo was taken from a vehicle in the 7300 block of Tiffany Boulevard.

Jan. 24

Harassment: A Grover Drive woman said her teenage daughter received several threatening online and text messages.

Theft: A $200 cell phone was stolen from a locker at a McClurg Road business.

Fraud: A woman presented two counterfeit prescriptions at Walgreens Pharmacy, 7295 Market St.

Theft: A man took at least $200 worth of videos from Sears.

Harassment: A Lockwood Boulevard woman reported receiving a series of such calls.

Jan. 27

Harassment: A Tod Avenue woman told police a man has sent and made such text messages and calls.

Misuse of a credit card: A Waggaman Circle woman noticed her debit-card number had been used online to make two unauthorized transactions.

Theft: A woman stole two bottles of perfume from The Buckle in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Three people reportedly stole a $4,500 diamond bracelet from LeRoy’s Jewelers in the Southern Park Mall.

Auto theft: David J. Triplett, 18, of 964 E. Indianola Ave., Youngstown, was charged with receiving stolen property after police stopped him on East Midlothian Boulevard. Triplett admitted having stolen his grandmother’s 2000 Chevrolet vehicle, a report said.

Domestic violence: Ruby I. Rich, 29, and 33-year-old Dandelion W. Rich, both of 8260 Southern Blvd., Boardman, were charged after each sister allegedly assaulted the other; Julie A. Exline, 35, of 4932 Grover Drive, Youngstown, was charged with assault when, police said, she punched one of the sisters. Ruby Rich also was wanted by Stark County authorities on a charge of trafficking in heroin.

Bad check: Sandra Williamson, 58, of 1996 Wolosyn Circle, Boardman, faced a felony charge of passing a bad check after her landlord alleged Williamson had deliberately stopped payment on a $525 rent check.

Theft: Police charged 61-year-old Mark E. Gill, 236 Laurel St., Youngstown, with stealing four electric breakers from Home Depot, 7001 Southern Blvd.

Jan. 28

Theft: Two people stole 30 gold earrings from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road. The loss was estimated at $1,600.

Assault: A woman at a Boardman-Poland Road eatery told police another woman pushed her. The accuser was not injured, however.

Burglary: To a residence in the 400 block of Indianola Road, from which a $1,400 laptop computer and a garage-door opener were taken.

Arrest: Officers responded to a burglary call on Cedar Way and charged 41-year-old Tammy J. Delliquadri, 872 Cedar Way, with making a false alarm and obstructing official business after saying she had called 911 to report a break-in but provided false and inconsistent information.

Theft: A $300 ring was stolen in the 5000 block of Irma Avenue.

Attempted burglary: Someone cut and removed a rear-window screen in an effort to break into a residence in the 300 block of Meadowbrook Avenue, though no entry was made.

Vandalism: Five of a vehicle’s windows were broken in the 300 block of Mathews Road. Damage was estimated at $1,000.

Theft: Police charged Kendall L. Peterson, 19, of 605 W. Dewey Ave., Youngstown, with the theft of a $10 DVD from Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A female at Boardman High School, 7777 Glenwood Ave., discovered a $300 MP3 player missing from her purse.

Theft: Dashwayla Walker of 406 Emery Ave., and Ashley S. Reyes of 2639 Tyrell St. were charged. The two 18-year-old Youngstown women were accused of stealing clothing and cosmetics from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Criminal mischief: Two swastikas were spray-painted at a California Avenue doctor’s office.

Theft: Ashlea D. Young, 27, of 104 Woodland Drive, New Middletown, was charged with stealing $53 worth of cosmetics from Walmart.

Breaking and entering: Tools and golf clubs were removed from a garage in the 300 block of Meadowbrook Avenue.

Jan. 29

Theft: A worker for Sherwin-Williams Co., 7133 Tiffany Blvd., reported two men short-changed the store $122.

Theft: An MP3 player, a passport, a bag and various pieces of paperwork were removed from a car in the 4200 block of Stratford Road.

Theft: A woman reported the theft of her purse at a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant.

Assault: A woman at a South Avenue motel reported her boyfriend struck her head and face numerous times, then pushed her to the ground.

Drug paraphernalia: A Meadowbrook Avenue woman told police she found a suspected marijuana pipe that belonged to her son.

Theft: A man in the 200 block of Meadowbrook Avenue reported several wrenches stolen from his garage.

Menacing: Shalla Y. Furquan, 26, of 412 Wirt St., Youngstown, was taken into custody during a traffic stop on South Avenue. She was wanted on a warrant charging her.

Jan. 30

Theft: A Youngstown man reported his wallet stolen at a Doral Drive store.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s rear window was broken at the Southern Park Mall.

Assault: Officers charged 50-year-old Ronald Green, 344 Mansell Drive, Liberty, with simple assault after a woman at a Market Street motel alleged that when she asked Green to leave, he threw her next to a bed.

Jan. 31

Theft: Police booked 24-year-old Briana Hideg, 2785 Tibbetts-Wick Road, Hubbard, after $120 worth of clothing had been stolen from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall. She was released on a summons.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 2000 block of Wolosyn Circle. Stolen was a $40 pen.

Harassment: A Rockdale Avenue woman said a caller claimed she had won government money.

Theft: A woman in her 50s fled from Master Cuts Inc. in the Southern Park Mall without paying $94.53 worth of services.

Theft: A woman at a South Avenue church discovered her purse and various medications missing.

Arrest: A 15-year-old Spring Hill, Fla., boy faced charges of obstructing official business and resisting arrest after a traffic stop on Market Street. The teen, who also was wanted on a pickup order from Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center in Youngstown, led police on a foot pursuit and hid in a trash bin, they said.

Misuse of a credit card: A Carter Circle woman discovered two unauthorized withdrawals from her credit-card account.

Theft: An Austintown man reported a 37-inch high-definition TV stolen in the 1000 block of West Western Reserve Road.
