Police: Man killed wife, used girl as shield
MYERSTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A man is in custody after police say he shot and killed his wife then used a 10-year-old girl as a shield during a standoff with police.
State police say 30-year-old Jonathan Eisenhauer called 911 early Friday to report he’d shot and killed his wife, Andrea, and a dog inside the home in Jackson Township, Lebanon County.
When police arrived, they say Eisenhauer started shooting at them from an upstairs window. Authorities say the troopers returned fire and Eisenhauer then appeared at the front door holding the unnamed girl in front of him. He eventually released the girl and was taken into custody.
Eisenhauer was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. He is listed in serious condition.
The girl is in the custody of family members.
