POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Hubbard and Liberty:

GIRARD

Feb. 7

Damage: A vehicle drove over and caused $250 in damage to a lawn in the 200 block of Louis Avenue.

Feb. 8

Criminal mischief/menacing: An Iowa Avenue man reported a broken window to his residence, and that someone had threatened online to damage his property and harm him.

HUBBARD

Feb. 1

Bad check: Such a check was presented at Hi-Tech Auto, 917 N. Main St.

Feb. 3

Criminal damaging: A fence was damaged at a doctor’s office in the 20 block of Mock Street.

Feb. 4

Theft: Officers received a call regarding the theft of utilities in the 300 block of West Liberty Street.

Theft: Prescription medication was stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Bentley Avenue.

Feb. 5

Recovered property: Police found a vehicle that a West Park Avenue woman had reported stolen.

Feb. 8

Domestic violence: Police charged 31-year-old Timothy C. Lee, 28 W. Water St., Hubbard, with the crime after Lee’s girlfriend alleged he had beaten her up.

Criminal mischief: A Hillview Drive man reported someone in a dark Chevrolet Cavalier tossed eggs and fired about 200 rounds from a paint ball gun.

Theft: A chair was removed from a yard in the 700 block of Meadowland Drive.

Identity theft: A man in the 100 block of West Liberty Street reported being a victim.

LIBERTY

Feb. 3

Criminal damaging: A Jeep in the 4100 block of Madison Road was found with a shattered vent window.

Theft: A book bag and a small sum of money were taken from a car in the 4000 block of Madison Road.

Theft/damage: Someone broke a vehicle window in the 4100 block of Monticello Boulevard and removed a global-positioning-system device.

Theft: A satellite radio was stolen from a vehicle in the 4000 block of Madison Road.

Harassment: A Ventura Drive woman alleged her sister has been making harassing and vulgar calls.

Arrest: Slava P. Zaslavskiy, 40, of 4047 Risher Road, Boardman, surrendered to authorities on a warrant from the township.

Domestic violence: A 14-year-old Girard boy was charged with domestic violence and juvenile offenses after his mother’s boyfriend alleged the teen had struck him as he tried to stop the enraged boy from damaging the residence.

Theft: A $300 GPS unit was taken from a vehicle in the 4100 block of Monticello Boulevard.

Theft: Two 13-inch speakers and numerous compact discs were stolen from a car in the 200 block of Colonial Drive.

Theft: A $200 bicycle was removed from a residence in the 4100 block of Logan Gate Road.

Damage: Someone broke into and ransacked a car in the 10 block of Trumbull Court.

Attempted auto theft: Someone tried to steal a 1996 Chevrolet vehicle in the 30 block of Trumbull Court.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 10 block of Trumbull Court had a smashed driver’s-side window.

Theft: A $130 GPS device was missing from a car in the 40 block of Trumbull Court.

Feb. 4

Drugs: Police received a complaint from a worker at a Belmont Avenue motel, where they charged 34-year-old Michelle L. Burkes, 489 Francisca Ave., Youngstown, with felony trafficking in marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Found in a room were a bag of suspected marijuana, additional rolled bags, suspected marijuana seeds and a pair of scissors with suspected marijuana residue, a report showed.

Feb. 6

Criminal damaging: Someone threw eggs at a home in the 600 block of Santa Monica Drive and broke a vinyl window pane.

Feb. 7

Criminal damaging: Someone in the 10 block of Trumbull Court broke a car’s driver’s-side window.

Damage: A sliding-glass patio window was broken in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive.

Criminal mischief: Eggs were tossed at a home and its garage door in the 5600 block of Sampson Road.

Harassment: A Logan Arms Drive woman said she’s been receiving unwanted text messages.

Drugs: A traffic stop on state Route 193 led to the arrest of 31-year-old Keisha R. Robinson, 44 N. Dunlap Ave., Youngstown, on a drug-abuse charge when, police said, a bag containing 2 grams of suspected marijuana was in Robinson’s purse.

Arrest: Officers picked up Jerell A. Washington, 22, of 640 Fairgreen Ave., Youngstown, after pulling him over near Goldie Road. He was wanted on a warrant from the city.

Stolen property/pursuit: Authorities responded to car break-ins on Hadley Avenue and, with the assistance of Youngstown police, chased four people who left the area in a vehicle determined to have been stolen in Columbus. Three of the occupants ran from the car and led officers on a foot pursuit, though they eluded police, a report said.

Feb. 8

Fraud: A Laurel Street man discovered unauthorized online transactions to his bank account.
