NYPD: 3 stabbed to death, 2 hurt in deadly rampage

NEW YORK (AP) — New York City police are searching for a man they say went on an 11-hour deadly stabbing spree, killing his stepfather, then his girlfriend and her mother, and injuring two others as he escaped.

Police say the suspect’s stepfather, 54-year-old Aleksandr Kuznetsov, was found with multiple stab wounds early Friday in his home in Brooklyn. About 11 hours later, police found the bodies of his stepson’s girlfriend and her mother a few blocks away. They have not been identified.

Police say the suspect, 23-year-old Maksim Gelman, escaped in a Lexus he stole Friday. They say he drove a few blocks north, then stole another car by carjacking and stabbing its driver. He hit a pedestrian as he escaped.

The pedestrian was hospitalized in critical condition. The driver is stable.
