No one hurt in pipeline explosion near Hanoverton

HANOVERTON

A Tennessee Gas Pipeline erupted about 10:30 p.m. Thursday and exploded, sending a fireball into the sky.

Hanoverton Fire Department Chief Tim Wood said that no one was hurt.

“There was very little property damage,” he said today.

The fire department and the Columbiana County Emergency Management Agency are in charge of the investigation.

The chief said the explosion could have been worse.

The fire department and the EMA have scheduled a press conference this afternoon at the fire department.
