Warren man sentenced for his role in 2010 robbery

WARREN — One of the three men who forced a 12-year-old Westwood Street Northwest boy to the floor while they robbed his house Jan. 27, 2010, has been sentenced to 81⁄2 years in prison.

Shon L. Thompson, 21, of Fifth Street Southwest, received a seven-year sentence in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court and another 18 months on a separate charge earlier this week.

He pleaded guilty to kidnapping and burglary earlier before Judge Peter Kontos in the Westwood Street incident. The additional 18 months were related to a probation violation involving a carrying-concealed-weapons charge from 2009.

Judge Kontos will also sentence Thompson’s co-defendant, O’Mearo Beaver, 20, of Commerce Street Northwest on Monday.

Beaver took the case to trial in January but was convicted of both offenses. He could get up to 18 years in prison.

The boy called 911 just after the robbers left, describing the vehicle they were driving and the clothing they wore. The third robber was never identified.
