“Lonesome No More,” a traveling art exhibition, will be displayed at the Oakland Center for the Arts’ Star Gallery on Friday and Saturday. An opening reception for the cash-and-carry exhibit will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday. Saturday hours will be noon to 4 p.m. The Oakland is at 220 W. Boardman St., downtown.

The exhibition’s goal is to promote the emerging art of Northeast Ohio throughout the entire region. It debuted in Cleveland in October. Youngstown is the second city on the tour.

“The Rust Belt region is home to some innovative and progressive artists,” said organizer and Youngstown native Dave Desimone. “We feel that taking our show on the road is a great way to promote this fact and connect with artists from other cities.” Other cities targeted for the tour include Milwaukee, Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus, Akron, Pittsburgh, Erie and Buffalo.

“Lonesome No More” features work by some of Cleveland’s top emerging artists including CHOD, Ron Copeland, Adam Dumont, Shaun Edwards, Steven Ehret, Jonah Jacobs, MCXIII, Michelle Marie Murphy, Bob Peck, Scott Phillps, Scott Pickering, Joshua Rex, Greg Ruffing, Andrew Shondrick and The Sign Guy. Joining the exhibition are Youngstown artists Chris Yambar, James Pernotto and Terrence Michael Fetchet.
