Pro-chastity group booted from sex ed expo at U. of Pitt
PITTSBURGH (AP) — A group of University of Pittsburgh students who support abstinence outside of marriage say they were booted from a student-run sexual education expo on campus.
Joseph Petrich says he and other members of the Pittsburgh Anscombe Society were kicked out of the lobby of a dorm building on Monday during the student-organized program.
Petrich tells the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that the pro-chastity students were handing out leaflets and paper flowers when they were asked to leave by campus police. They complied and moved outside.
Petrich says school officials cited impeded foot traffic for the removal. Officials also suggested the unofficial student group could have another group sponsor them to get a table at the expo.
