Man injured in East Side shooting
YOUNGSTOWN — Police are trying to determine who fired multiple shots into a car containing a 26-year-old man and four children on the East Side early today.
The 26-year-old man was shot in the thigh and had flesh wounds to his face and chest from bullets that hit the silver 1999 Dodge Stratus he was driving. Reports do not indicate that any of the children in the car were injured.
The man told police he was at the intersection of Bauker Avenue and Jacobs Road with his children at about 6:30 a.m. to pick up his estranged wife who had been visiting a friend. The man said someone came out of a house in the 2200 block of Bauker and began shooting.
