Man hurt in jump from car

CAMPBELL — A man who jumped out of a moving car was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center with a severe head injury, police report.

Joseph W. Forney-Gibbs, 22, of Bright Avenue was in a car driven by his wife, police report. There were other people in the car as well.

At 12:07 a.m. Thursday, the car was at state Route 616 and Robinson Road when Forney-Gibbs, in response to a fight he was having with his wife, opened the door and jumped out, police said.

His wife stopped the car long enough to let a friend get out and check on him, then drove away, police said.

The friend discovered Forney-Gibbs had a severe head injury and called police and an ambulance, police said.

The hospital said Thursday afternoon he is in critical condition.
