Boardman rolls past Bedford

Brooke Meenachan scored 11 of her 15 points in the first quarter as the Boardman High girls basketball team, which defeated Bedford 66-32 on Tuesday.

Missy DeMarinis added 15 on five 3-pointers for Boardman (7-10), which made 10 from behind the arc. For Bedford, Bianca Hall had seven points.

YOUNGSTOWN

Christine Pelini scored 12 points while Katrina Larson added 12 points and Elena Andino-Esparra had 11 for the Cardinals (8-11). Laniece McRae had 15 points and 15 rebounds for the Cowgirls (9-8) while Zatona Yancey had 12 points and Lylesia Cotton added 10.

Abby Riffee, Brittney Bevilacqua and Megan Ben each had 13 points for the Rams (11-8, 6-8 Inter Tri-County League Tier One) and Chasity Digman added 10 more. Lauren Evans had 15 points and Anna Dunn had 12 for the Blue Devils (7-11, 5-9).

Western Reserve 48, Leetonia 39

The Blue Devils (16-3, 12-2 ITCL Tier Two) were paced by Sammi Burton, who scored a game-high 14 points, and Colleen Kennehan, who scored 12. Nicole Mann had 12 points or the Bears (9-10, 5-8).

Katy Butler had 10 points for the Trojans (11-6, 8-5 ITCL Tier Two), while Taylor Ward had eight points, and six assists. Kayla Maretich had five points and added six rebounds.

For the BlueJays, Katie Santor had seven points while Paige Kiraly had five points and 10 rebounds.
