Marlington 63, West Branch 44

MARLINGTON

Matt Latham scored 15 points and Tyler Rockwell added 14 points for the Warriors (4-22, 3-9 Northeastern Buckeye Conference). The Dukes (8-7, 6-5 NBC) were paced by Craig Kristey with 17 points. Teammates Lucas Strouble and Josh Draper had 16 and 12 points, respectively.

GIRLS

Howland 74, Niles 41

HOWLAND

Taylor Williams continued her impressive junior campaign with another big night for the Tigers, who remain undefeated in conference play. Williams score a game- high 24 points for Howland (16-1, 8-0 All American Conference Red Tier) while grabbing 10 rebounds and blocking six shots. Teammate Natalie Silbaugh added 16 points and Erika Nites contributed with 14 more. Paige Loychik dished out six of the Tigers’ 20 assists. The Red Dragons (1-17, 0-7 AAC Red) were led by Rachel Sussman with 11 points. A 25-point second half helped the Tigers to a 45-18 lead at halftime.

Austintown Fitch 77, Campbell Memorial 28

CAMPBELL

Three Falcons scored double-digit points in the lopsided contest. Leading the way was Erica Braxton, who scored a game-high 16 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. Teammates Anissa Hill had 12 and Brenda Thompson added 11 more for the Falcons (8-8). Tiera Graves had 15 for the Red Devils (1-15) and scored nine of the team’s 10 free throws.

Newton Falls 49, Champion 40

CHAMPION

Rachel Ellis had 13 points against Champion, which suffered its first tier loss. Ellis was 9 of 9 from the foul line for Newton Falls, which made only three second-half field goals, but converted 18 of 26 free throws during that stretch. Mackenzie Kiser’s 12 points paced the Golden Flashes.

Lakeview 48, Salem 45

SALEM

Ali Gagne had 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who improved to 10-9. She was joined by teammate Alisha Nichols with 13 points. Leading the Quakers (4-12) was Cassie Davidson with 19 points and eight rebounds. Lindsey Foster had nine points and nine rebounds.

Liberty 60, Hubbard 43

HUBBARD

Vakeyla Merriweather scored 23 points to lead all scorers and had the only deep ball for the visitors. Teammates Bianca Rozenblad and Mindy Dykes scored 16 points and 12 points, respectively for the Leopards (11-6, 6-1 AAC White). The Eagles (5-13, 0-7 AAC White) were paced by Krista Julian’s 15, including nine from beyond the arc.

Struthers 57, Beaver Local 27

STRUTHERS

The Wildcats’ leading scorer had only nine points, but the team did a good job of spreading the ball around to find points. Hannah Dubec led Struthers (14-3, 7-1) which has is tied for the conference lead with Liberty, and has had at least a share of the crown for the past three years. Tenelle Hoppel had half of Beaver Local’s points, finishing the night with 14.

LaBrae 46, Girard 42

GIRARD

Danielle Webber put away the win with a game-clinching steal and a layup as time ran out to propel the Vikings (8-8, 2-5 AAC Blue). Webber finished with 15 points and teammates Courtney Aldirdge and Brittani Hill had 11 points each for the visitors. Desiree DeFrank had 14 points and Miranda Boyle had 13 points for the Indians (9-9, 3-4 AAC Blue).

Lowellville 54, Leetonia 35

LOWELLVILLE

Taylor Hvisdak and Ashley Moore helped the Rockets clinch the Inter Tri-County Leaguer Tier Two crown by combining for 33 points. Hvisdak scored 17 points and Moore 16 for the Rockets (18-0, 13-0). Emily Carlson contributed nine points. For the Bears (8-10, 4-8), Clarissa Perkinsled with 19 points while Nicole Mann scored eight.

Western Reserve 57, Jackson-Milton 27

NORTH JACKSON

Sammi Burton had 15 points while Colleen Kenneran added 13 for Reserve, whose player, Linley Mamonis had six of the Blue Devils’ 42 rebounds. Paige Kiraly had eight rebounds for Jackson-Milton, which suffered from 35 turnovers.

United 51, Lisbon 28

HANOVERTON

Rachel Sell scored 19 points for the first-place Eagles (15-4, 12-1 ITCL Tier One). Sierra Parks scored nine points and made 11 rebounds and eight steals. For the Blue Devils (7-10, 5-8), Katie Snoddy scored seven points.

South Range 71, Columbiana 39

BEAVER TOWNSHIP

On the strength of sharp shooting, South Range got off to a 45-18 halftime lead and rolled in the ITCL Tier One game. Samantha Smith scored all of her 13 points in the first half for the Raiders, who beat Columbiana earlier this season, 47-27. For the Clippers (5-12, 2-10), Dakota Deamicis had 12 points, while senior guard Hayley Goist had 11 rebounds and five assists.

Crestview 54, Mineral Ridge 51

COLUMBIANA

Ashley Harrison scored 25 points and made eight assists and five steals for the Rebels (13-6, 9-4 ITCL Tier One). Geri Sickle netted nine points and made 15 rebounds. For the Rams (10-8, 5-8), Abby Riffee led with 17 points while Brittney Bevilacqua and Megan Ben each scored 13.

East Palestine 54, Springfield 50

EAST PALESTINE

Brooke Gedeon scored 21 points and made 14 rebounds as the Bulldogs (3-15, 5-8 ITCL Tier One) snapped a 12-game losing streak. Logan Gatchel scored 10 points and Paige Peterson nine. For the Tigers (5-14, 5-8), Brooke Schrieber scored 21 points and Kelsey Larson nine.

North Canton Hoover 65, Boardman 52

The Federal League tournament game didn’t go so well for the Spartans. The team was paced by Allison Borts’ 12 points, and Amanda Volosin’s 10. The Spartans fell to 6-10 on the year and 3-6 in the conference. Kaylee Stroemple had 14 points for the host team.

YOUNGSTOWN

Tori Thompson led the Warriors (7-11) with six points. For the Eagles (5-13), Shanell Harris scored six.

MINERVA

Chelsie Butler lead all scorers with 16 points and teammate Kassidy Hardgrove added 12 for the host Lions (13-4, 10-3 NBC). Kelsey Loiselle had seven points for the Warriors (12-5, 10-3 NBC).

LORDSTOWN

Sarah Cash led the Red Devils (12-5) with 27 points. For the Mustangs (1-15), Jackie Rhine scored 11 points.
