POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Feb. 2

Theft: A Chapel Lane man reported to police that $478.76 in fraudulent charges were made to his debit card.

Drug abuse: Kenneth Shimsky, 59, of 23 Fairview, Campbell, was arrested on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia after police found approximately 0.5 grams of crack cocaine and a glass pipe containing burnt cocaine residue.

Feb. 6

Warrant: Christopher Poe, 29, of 7815 Akron-Canfield Road, was arrested on an active warrant out of Trumbull County.

AUSTINTOWN

Jan. 31

Burglary: A computer was stolen at a home in the 1000 block of Bexley Avenue.

Lost or stolen plate: An Ohio license plate was reported lost or stolen at a home in the 3000 block of Lynnhaven Drive.

Feb. 1

Disorderly conduct: Amber Terrace, 27, of Cleveland, was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: A debit card was stolen from a home in the 100 block of North Kimberly Avenue.

Theft: A taillight was taken from an auto in the 4000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Aggravated menacing: A male is a suspect in aggravated menacing in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Theft: Money was taken from a Visa debit card at an apartment at Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.

Theft: Brayonna Rogers, 18, of 174 E. Lucius Ave., Youngstown, was arrested on a theft charge at Dots, 6000 Mahoning Ave. A female juvenile was also arrested.

Feb. 2

Theft: One case of Guinness beer was stolen at Jeremiah Bullfrogs, 5529 Mahoning Ave.

Burglary: A vacant house was entered by three juveniles in the 3000 block of Cannon Road. Nothing was taken.

Theft: A dog was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Burkey Road.

Feb. 3

Theft: Four wheels and tires were stolen from Auto Profile, 6617 Mahoning Ave.

Aggravated menacing: An unknown caller was menacing at Shell True North, 1704 S. Raccoon Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was broken at a home in the 3000 block of Burkey Road.

Menacing by stalking: A man is accused of menacing by stalking at a home in the 3000 block of Sandalwood Court.

Theft: Numerous items were stolen from a residence in the 5000 block of Yorktown Lane.

Aggravated menacing: A third grader made threats to burn down the school and staff at Watson Elementary, 215 Idaho Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Justin Redmond, 20, of 322 West St., Niles, on a warrant charging domestic violence.

Criminal damaging: Tires were slashed on a van at a home in the 3000 block of Artmar Drive.

Credit card fraud: Unauthorized purchases were made on a credit card at a home in the 4000 block of Norquest Blvd.

Feb. 4

Menacing by stalking: A female was a victim of menacing by stalking at a home in the 3000 block of Sandalwood Court.

Theft: An Ohio license was stolen at Club Gossip, 1743 S. Raccoon Road.

Auto theft: An Ohio Edison truck, with the keys in the vehicle, was stolen at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Feb. 5

Drug offense: William Chessner, 22, of 572 Fowler St., Cortland, was issued a summons for drug abuse of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and Ryan Repko, 23, of 5864 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, Cortland, was issued a summons for drug abuse of marijuana and possession at state Route 46 and Clarkins Drive.

Disorderly conduct: Joshua Balas, 22, of 1415 Maxwell St., Warren, was issued a summons for disorderly conduct in the 5400 block of Clarkins Drive.

Theft: Kimberly Dawkins, 43, of 2161 Hamilton, Warren, was issued a summons for theft at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: $190 in merchandise was stolen at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Aggravated menacing: Juveniles were making threats at a home in the 4000 block of Washington Square Drive.

Theft: Jewelry was stolen at Kmart.

Theft: A cell phone was stolen at Rachel’s, 654 Westchester Drive.

Auto theft: A Green Buick LeSabre was taken at Chippers Sports Bar, 5 N. Edgehill Ave.

Feb. 6

Theft: A cell phone was taken at Club Gossip, 1743 S. Raccoon Road.

Attempted auto theft: The steering column was damaged on a 1996 Buick LeSabre at a home in the 90 block of S. Four Mile Run Road.
