AUCTIONS

Heartland Christian School, 28 Pittsburgh St., Columbiana, is planning an annual auction for March 19 at the school. The public is asked to support the auction with a gift of merchandise or service. The gift is tax deductible and the name of the business making the donation will appear in the event program Those interested in participating are asked to e-mail lbrandenstein@heartland.k12.oh.us. Donations can also be mailed to the school. Proceeds from the auction will go toward school renovations. DANCES

New Hope United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave., Niles, will sponsor a Valentine dance from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is $2 per person. There will be food and contests.

St. Rose of Lima and St. Lucy Church will sponsor a Valentine’s Day dinner and dance Saturday at the Palermo Banquet Center, 394 Tenney Ave., Campbell. Dinner will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. with Trio Riqueno providing a strolling serenade. DJ Chico will provide music for dancing from 6 to midnight. The cost is $15 per person or $25 a couple. DINNERS

Boardman High School Band and Orchestra will sponsor its third annual reverse raffle and dinner from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. March 18 at The Georgetown, 5945 South Ave., Boardman. Tickets are $100 per couple and include dinner for two, an open bar, a disc jockey and a reverse raffle ticket. There also will be a small reverse raffle side board, a basket raffle and a 50-50 raffle. Tickets may be purchased from any band or orchestra parent. RAFFLES

Knights Of Columbus, Girard Council 2935, is having its St. Patrick’s Day raffle, an annual fundraiser. Tickets are available for a donation of $5 for two. The drawing is based on the straight three digit Pennsylvania Evening Drawing. Prizes are $200 each day for March 13, 14, 15 and 16, and a grand prize of $500 on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17. Tickets are available now from any council member.

SALES

Goodwill Stores in Austintown, Boardman, Calcutta, Hermitage, Liberty, New Castle, Salem and Warren are open Monday through Sunday and feature 50 percent off donated merchandise sales the last Friday and Saturday of each month. The stores sell clothing, furniture, household items, books, home decor items, electronics and new goods. Purchases help to fund job training and employment services to people with disabilities and other barriers to employment in the community. Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore, 480 Youngstown-Poland Road, Struthers, is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The ReStore carries a wide variety of building materials, including doors, windows, sinks and hardware, wood products, flooring, plumbing, electrical and lighting, appliances, electronics, furniture and home decor items. All items are sold at low discount prices.

Vincent United Methodist Church, 28 Walnut St., Jackson Center, Pa., will host a winter rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 11, and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. A soup, sandwich and dessert lunch will be served Friday. The fundraiser will support the “Methodists United in Faith” Mission Work Team, which will travel to Dulac, La., to help with the Gulf Coast relief.

TRIPS

Alpha & Omega First Baptist Church Building Fund is sponsoring a charter bus trip to “The Color Purple” on March 26 at the Palace Theatre, Cleveland. The show starts at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $65 and $85. A $45 nonrefundable deposit is due by Feb. 18.”The Color Purple” is a musical based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker and film by Steven Spielberg.
