Wheelchair fundraiser planned in Campbell

A fundraiser, “Miracle Mile for Mel,” will take place from 4 to 9 p.m. Feb. 19 at St. Michael’s Byzantine Hall, 463 Robinson Road. Melanie Johnson works at the Davis WMCA in Boardman and has been using a wheelchair for 21 years. She is going to compete in an Ironman competition July 9 in Muncie, Ind. The fundraiser’s purpose is to raise money to buy her a racing wheelchair for the event. The fundraiser will feature a basket auction, dinner, a DJ and more. Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for kids 5-12 and free for kids under 5. For tickets call 330-755-4256. Make monetary donations at any Huntington Bank.
