According to Vindicator archives, several of the victims of sunday’s shooting had ties to sports:

Durrell Richardson fought at junior middleweight for several years, both as an amateur and a pro boxer. He went 12-3 with five knockouts in his pro career, with his last fight coming in October of 2009. Richardson was trained by Jack Loew, who also trains former middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik. His uncle is Greg Richardson, who held the WBC world bantamweight title from 1991-92.

Richardson was indicted on May 20, 2005 for improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle.

Te’John Lawrence graduated from Fitch High last spring and was a standout sprinter, advancing to last June’s Division I state meet in the 200-meter dash, where he placed 11th.

Jordon Wagner played basketball for Liberty in 2007-08.

Jamie Ruffin served as a cheerleader for Chaney in 2008.
