JumpStart Inclusion Advisors and Charter One Bank will host the second and final session in a minority business series at Youngstown State University. The second session, part of a workshop titled “The Anatomy of a High Potential Company: Growing Your Business to $15 Million in Sales and Beyond,” will be Feb. 22 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Williamson College of Business Administration Conference Center at YSU. The event is free, but space is limited.

This session provides targeted, specific strategies to assist minority entrepreneurs.

Seth Bryant, founder and managing partner of New York-based law firm Bryant Burgher Jaffe & Roberts LLP, is the session’s guest speaker. For more information, visit www.jumpstartinc.org.

YOUNGSTOWN

Adult Training Center is offering three classes in February.

The first is a five-hour genealogy course about how to organize, search and separate fact from fiction, and preserve and share the information you find. The course will be Tuesdays from 7:30-8:30 p.m. It begins Feb. 22.

The second is a 12-hour introduction to quilting course. Students are required to bring their own supplies and equipment. The course will be Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. It begins Feb. 23.

A 20-hour introduction to computers course will teach students how to use Windows, word processing, saving your work and finding it again and uploading photos. The course will be Monday through Thursday from 12:30 to 3 p.m. for two weeks. It begins Feb. 21.

Business workshop

SALEM

A one-day workshop titled “Business Plan Essentials in a Day” will be at Kent State University’s Salem Campus Feb. 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Topics include advantages and disadvantages of being your own boss, home-based business, obtaining financing, exploring market demands and available resources.

The workshop is at the Kent State City Center, 230 North Lincoln Avenue, Salem. The cost for this one- day program is $99.

Business Plan Essentials in a Day is being offered by Kent State Salem and East Liverpool Workforce Development in partnership with the Small Business Development Center of Kent State University Tuscarawas.

The facilitator, Joe Belinksy, is a certified business adviser with the Small Business Development Center at KSU Tuscarawas.
