Poland-Canfield tickets on sale Tuesday
The Poland High School athletic department will begin pre-selling tickets to the Poland boys basketball team’s Feb. 11 game against rival Canfield, starting Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Anyone wishing to use a Poland Activity Pass for the game must come to the athletic office to receive a game ticket. No activity passes will be accepted at the door. This will be enforced due to the expectations of the game being sold out. The doors will open at 5 p.m.

Poland girls get Niles win
The Poland Middle School eighth grade girls basketball team defeated Niles 30-16 Jan. 27.
Leading scorer for the Bulldogs was Shayla Gebhardt with 10.
Patton signs with Pittsburgh
Poland senior wide receiver Darius Patton has verbally committed to Pitt. Patton (5-foot-10, 170 pounds) had 49 catches for 800 yards and 12 TDs for the Bulldogs.
It’s a homecoming of sorts for Patton, who attended Penn Hills High School outside of Pittsburgh before transferring to Poland before his junior year.
Patton also had Division I offers from West Virginia, Michigan, Syracuse, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Boston College, Wisconsin, Kansas, Indiana, Buffalo, Akron, Bowling Green, Toledo, Miami (Ohio) and Kent State. YSU also offered him a scholarship.
Track rules meeting is Feb. 9
A mandatory OHSAA rules interpretation meeting for track & field is scheduled at Austintown Fitch High School on Feb. 9, beginning at 6 p.m.
