Mooney led almost the entire fourth quarter, although JFK cut the Cardinals’ lead to two in the non-league game. Doug Caputo had 13 points and Danny Reese added 11, while Reese, Kevin McGuire and Ryan Farragher had six rebounds apiece for Mooney (7-6), which is 2-1 in its last three games. RaiTwann Gaston made 13 of 16 free throws and the junior finished with a game-high 21 points for JFK (7-8), which converted 20 of 32 at the line.

East 39, Youngstown Christian 35

YOUNGSTOWN

Antonio Woods scored 11 points and East (4-10) used a 20-10 halftime lead to take control. For YCS (7-8), Louis Lee had 12 points and Anthony Walker 11.

Liberty 64, Chaney 62

YOUNGSTOWN

Luka Markulin, Jalen Mann, Preston Williams and Charles Perdue had 14, 13, 12 and 10 points, respectively, for Liberty (8-7). Of Liberty’s 37 rebounds, Jalen Mann and Luka Markulin had 11 and 10, respectively. After Phillip Hudson’s 3-point goal to put Chaney (2-9) up, 62-58, Williams made a three-point play to pull the Leopards within 62-61 before Mann made a basket and free throw to lift Liberty into the lead with 0:20 remaining. Hudson and Rayshawn Johnson had 19 points apiece and Hudson had nine of Chaney’s 33 rebounds.

Poland 73, Niles 46

POLAND

Colin Reardon scored 17 points with six rebounds and three steals for Poland (11-3, 3-1 All-American Conference Red), which jumped out to a 27-10 first quarter lead. Darius Patton added 15 points and three steals, while Drew Wagner had eight points and five assists. For Niles (7-9, 1-4), Bobby Marino had 11 points and Devontae Wesson scored 10.

Lakeview 54, Salem 50

CORTLAND

After trading leads in the fourth quarter, Lakeview (8-8, 2-2 AAC White) managed to hold off Salem in the last few minutes. Senior Ryan Ellis scored 10 points, while Mike Prindle, Brandon Bensing and Justin Misterka each had six of Lakeview’s 36 rebounds. Trent Kenreigh and Tylor Frederickson had 13 and 12 points, respectively, for Salem (6-7, 1-3).

Girard 53, Champion 38

GIRARD

Trailing at halftime, 20-18, Girard came out and took control as Michael Bornemiss had 13 of the Indians’ 19 fourth-quarter points in the team’s first AAC White Tier win. Bornemiss, a junior forward, finished with a season-high 17 points, including 7 of 8 free throws. Senior Mat Pagano also had 17 points for Girard (4-10, 1-3), which lost at Champion earlier this season, 58-56. Girard’s last win was on Jan. 18 against Campbell, 56-46. Ross Farmer’s 14 points led Champion (2-13, 1-4).

Campbell 63, Newton Falls 47

CAMPBELL

Ty Underwood scored 15 points and Dwaylon Letlo scored 14 points with 10 rebounds to lead Campbell (5-10, 2-2 AAC Blue), which outscored the Tigers 40-27 in the second half. Cody Dillon scored 35 with seven rebounds for the Tigers (11-3, 2-2), who shot just 14 of 63 for the game. Campbell made 23 of 40 from the field to overcome 21 turnovers.

Springfield 53, Columbiana 35

COLUMBIANA

Brad Ferraro scored 16 points and Nick Russell had 13 for the Tigers (11-4, 9-2 Inter Tri-County League Tier One), who led 21-10 after the first quarter. Tim Norris added four points, five rebounds and two steals. For Columbiana (4-10, 3-6), Luke Barker had 14 points with four rebounds and two steals.

East Palestine 76, South Range 62

EAST PALESTINE

Senior center Corey Wright had 24 points, seven rebounds and six blocks and senior forward Adam Robb had 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Bulldogs (10-3, 7-2 ITCL Tier One). Senior Brett Foreman had 18 points and senior Luke Gorby added 10 points and five assists for the winners, who led at the half, 40-39, before utilizing its defense in the third quarter to expand its edge. Jordan Baker, Andy Lacefield and Mike Thorpe had 18, 17 and 14 points, respectively, for South Range (10-3, 7-2).

Crestview 53, Lisbon 31

LISBON

Tom Oliver and C.J. Collins each scored 12 points for the Rebels (11-3, 8-2 ITCL Tier One). Oliver also made nine rebounds. Brian Orr had nine points. For the Blue Devils (2-12, 2-8), Matt Metzgar scored 13 points and made 10 rebounds.

Southern 41, Sebring 36

Trey Griffith scored 16 points and Eric Baker 10 for the Indians (13-1, 8-1 ITCL Tier Two). For the Trojans (8-4, 4-4), Seamus Johnson scored 12 points and Aaron Van Kirk nine.

NORTH JACKSON

Bobby Schnellbach’s 32 points led the Bluejays (7-7, 3-6 ITCL Tier Two). Jacob Carlile contributed 28 points and Brennen Morrison nine. For the Bears (1-13, 0-9), Cody Stokes and Ian Stecker each scored 10 points while Ian Sevenich netted nine.

Donatelli had 24 points and Alfano 15 for the Rockets (9-3, 5-3), who built on a 19-18 halftime lead. Thomas Benyo’s 11 points paced Western Reserve (1-15, 1-10).

United 53, Mineral Ridge 30

Jansen Sneltzer had 12 points and Brett Albright 10 for United (4-10, 3-7 ITCL Tier One), which took a 20-9 halftime lead en route to victory. Jeff Marsolo’s 11 points paced Mineral Ridge (0-15, 0-11).

Louisville 64, West Branch 46

BELOIT

Michael Schooley scored eight of his 20 points in the second quarter as Louisville outscored West Branch 20-10 over that eight-minute stretch to take control of the Northeastern Buckeye Conference game. Owen Granoy added 19 for the Leopards (9-6, 7-4). Chad Apple scored nine points and Austen Rekolt had eight points and five rebounds for the Warriors (4-10, 3-8).
