Kindergarten Registration

Area schools are accepting registrations for kindergarten enrollment for the next school year.

Niles: Kindergarten registration for Niles school district students and eligible open enrollment students will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 17 at all five school buildings. Those registering their children should bring the child’s birth certificate, Social Security card, immunization record, photo identification, proof of residency and custody papers when applicable. Kindergarten registration packets are available at Jackson Elementary School, 522 Emma St., or may be downloaded at www.nilescityschools.org. Completed information should be returned to Jackson Elementary by March 11.

Austintown: Kindergarten registration will be at local elementary schools from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. April 5 and 6 and also from 5 to 7 p.m. April 5. Those registering children should bring all paperwork. Call 330-797-3900, ext. 2015, with questions.

Mathews: Kindergarten registration for the Mathews School district (Currie Elementary) will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. There will be one evening registration from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. There will also be a second week of registration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the week of March 7. To register for kindergarten, bring the child’s birth certificate, immunization record, Social Security card, proof of residency, driver’s license and proof of legal custody, if necessary. These immunizations are necessary to start kindergarten: five DPT, four polio, two measles, two mumps, two rubella, three hepatitis B and two chicken pox.
