New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman St., will have its 38th annual dinner meeting at 3 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Brentford House, 737 Myron St.

The cost is $13; reservation deadline is Sunday.

The church recently adopted its 2011 budget in the amount of $658, 826, of which $387,926 will be used for the general fund, $82,400 for benevolence and missions and $188,500 for building fund and improvements.

The 2011 elected officers are: Michael Lyons, deacon board chairman; Pauline Lott, deaconess board chairman; Julius Livas, trustee board chairman; Ike Henry, general treasurer; Ketuan Baldwin, financial secretary; Michael Lyons, Christian education director; Lois York, Sunday school superintendent; Juanita Davis, church clerk; and Reuben Gordon, benevolent treasurer.

The Rev. Kenneth L. Simon is pastor and the Rev. Lonnie K.A. Simon, pastor emeritus.

Annual White Mass

Bishop George V. Murry will be the principle celebrant and homilist for the 15th annual White Mass at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 13 at St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St.

A brunch reception will follow in the cathedral hall.

The annual White Mass is sponsored by the Lourdes Guild, an association of Catholic physicians and dentists of the Diocese of Youngstown. The Lourdes Guild assists the diocesan Church in upholding and communicating Catholic medical ethics to the medical profession and throughout the wider culture.

Planning meeting

National Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS will be observed March 6-12.

The purpose is to bring national attention to the AIDS epidemic in the United States and the role faith communities play in AIDS prevention, education, service and advocacy.

Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church will host a faith-based, communitywide organizational and planning meeting at 2 p.m. Feb. 12 at the E.B. Family Life Center, 7 S. Garland Ave.

Whole Heart Sunday

Burghill Baptist Church, Route 7, will observe Whole Heart Sunday during a service at 10:45 a.m. Feb. 13.

The Rev. James Beach will lead the worship that will include dedication, call and commitment to minister in song through Southern, old-fashioned and traditional Gospel music.

Eric Hawout, tenor soloist, will be featured.

Pastor Dwight Dumas and his wife, Lori, of Commission to Pursue Reconciliation Inc., will present an inspirational weekend for married and pre-marital couples from Friday to Feb. 13 at the Avalon Inn. Friday there will be a dinner; Feb. 12, a marriage seminar; and Feb. 13, renewal of marriage vows.

Boy Scouts Sunday

St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 159 Todd Ave., will celebrate Boy Scouts Sunday on Feb. 13.

Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturing Scouts, leaders and families are invited for coffee, juice and doughnuts at 10:30 a.m. followed by worship at 11.

All Scouts and leaders in uniform will receive a free patch from Pastor David Williamson, who serves as the chaplain of Custaloga Town Scout Camp.

Documentary

Christian Bible Baptist Church, 2369 Oak St. Extension, will present a documentary on “The Truth Behind Hip-Hop” from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18 and 25.

Feast Day observance
