A Leavittsburg woman and her employer have been charged in federal court with illegally selling ammunition to a convicted felon, the U.S. Attorney said.
Nancy Hagmaier, 68, and her employer, Slugmasters Inc., also of Leavittsburg, were charged in an information with selling 150 rounds of .38-caliber ammunition “knowing or having reasonable cause to believe” that the buyer had been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than a year.
The information, which was filed Wednesday, does not name the buyer of the ammunition Hagmaier allegedly sold on June 22, 2009.
The case is assigned to U.S. Magistrate George Limbert and U.S. District Judge Benita Pearson.
The Youngstown office of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the case, which is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Atty. David M. Toepfer.
