McDonald, Leetonia athletes make college choices

MCDONALD
Troy Dombroski of McDonald High School has signed a letter of intent with Savannah State (Ga.) University to play golf.
Dombroski was a four-year letterman at McDonald. He was named All-Northeast Ohio twice and All-Inter Tri-County League all four years at McDonald.
He qualified for the district tournament as a junior and senior, and school officials he is the first player in school history to advance out of the sectional. Both years he narrowly missed qualifying for the state tournament, by one shot each year.
Last season Dombroski broke par in four matches and was medalist at the sectional with a 72, which is the school record for 18 holes. He also holds the school record for a 9-hole match with a 33 against Mineral Ridge.
Dombroski has played in most of the local Junior, Northern Ohio PGA and Kenny Novak tournaments.
In 2010 he was the co-medalist in the Tamer-Win Junior and The Seven-Up at Mill Creek where he shot 1-under 69 on the North Course,
Dombroski played in four Kenny Novak events with a best finish of fourth at the Fairways of Arrowhead in Canton. He qualified for the Kenny Novak Championship at the Walden Club in Aurora.
His coaches at McDonald were Ed Dolsak and Allan Stanley, and his instructor is Chris Carfangia.
Dombroski plans to major in Business/Professional Golf Management(PGM).
Gray to Lourdes
Leetonia
Paul Gray, a senior at Leetonia High School, signed his letter of intent to play baseball at Lourdes College in Sylvania.
Gray has lettered two times at Leetonia. He plans to major in Pre-Law at Lourdes. He is the son of Daniel and Delora Gray.
