The marriage of Jaime Sworthwood and Mark Banfield, both of Concord, N.C., was solemnized by the Rev. Beverly Marr at 3 p.m. July 31 at Durand United Methodist Church.

A reception followed at the ZCBJ Hall in Owosso, Mich. After a honeymoon in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple live in Concord.

Parents of the bride are Jim and Carla Sworthwood of Durand, and the groom is a son of Shirley Banfield of Austintown and Larry Banfield of Poland.

The bride’s white satin gown featured a beaded hemline and train.

Clover-colored gowns were worn by Erin Schmuhl, the bride’s cousin and honor attendant, and the bridesmaids, Christy Bell, Stacy Foust, Lindsey Bohm and Kris Figinsky, a sister of the groom. Flower girl was Zoe Figinsky, his niece.

Jim Banfield performed the duties of best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Frank Balog; Gary Davenport; Ryan Sworthwood and Eric Sworthwood, brothers of the bride; and Michael Lahm. Ushers were Michael Schmuhl, the bride’s cousin, and Christopher Figinsky, the groom’s nephew.

The bride graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a bachelor’s degree in English. She is an English teacher with Gaston County Schools in Gastonia, N.C.

The groom, a lead geometry teacher with Cabarrus County Schools in Concord, graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education/mathematics.
