Red Cross classes

BOARDMAN

The American Red Cross of the Mahoning Valley is offering two classes at its Boardman facility at 8381 Market St. They are:

Sports Injury Prevention and First Aid, Feb. 19, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The cost is $35.

Standard First Aid today, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The class is for anyone 15 years and older. The cost is $35.

Free seminars

FARRELL/GREENVILLE, PA.

The UPMC Horizon Minimally Invasive Bariatric and General Surgery Center is offering free information seminars in Mercer, Lawrence, and Crawford counties in February and March. To register, call 724-588-6660. The dates of the seminars, all of which are at 6 p.m., are:

Grant awarded

YOUNGSTOWN

The Walmart Foundation has awarded $15,595.20 to Second Harvest Food Bank.

The grant was part of a $270,750 contribution made by the Walmart Foundation to the 12 Feeding America food banks in Ohio.

Second Harvest, which distributes food to 153 hunger relief organizations in the Mahoning Valley, will use the funds to purchase freezers and refrigerators.

Developing list

Health program

The Humility of Mary Health Partners if offering its Health at Home program, which teaches individuals self-care and how to make decisions about their health.

The program is 11 a.m. to noon and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center, 8401 McClurg Road.

Drive extended

NILES

Burlington Coat Factory, ABC’s Good Morning America and One Warm Coat have extended their fourth annual Warm Coats and Warm Hearts Drive through Feb. 13.

Burlington Coat Factory is offering 10 percent off purchases to anyone who donates gently-worn coats at its Niles location on Youngstown-Warren Road.

All donated coats in the Niles area stay in the Niles area and are distributed by the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley.
