Former commissioner to run for mayor

LISBON

Former Columbiana Commissioner Dan Bing said he plans to run for mayor in Lisbon.

Bing, a Democrat, served one term as commissioner and was defeated last November for a second term.

He indicated he wanted to remain in politics after 2010. He said he wants to expand the local economy by partnering with surrounding areas to attract new business and strengthen the local infrastructure to accommodate economic growth.

He said he believes the village of Lisbon and the county governments should have a good working relationship.

Michael Lewis became mayor in January 2004.
