7th teen arrested in taped Pa. bullying incident

UPPER DARBY, Pa. (AP) — Police in suburban Philadelphia say they’ve arrested the seventh teen connected to a bullying incident in which a 13-year-old student was hung from a fence post by his jacket while one attacker recorded the encounter.

Upper Darby police say the final suspect was arrested Tuesday after he arrived at school.

Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood says the 14-year-old was sent to the Delaware County juvenile facility to join the other attackers.

Chitwood says the suspects, ages 13 to 17, kidnapped the victim on his way home from school on Jan. 11, dragged him through the snow, stuffed him in a tree and hung him by his jacket from a 7-foot-high fence post. The victim wasn’t seriously hurt.

The other six suspects were arrested Monday.
