Man fled from police twice

BOARDMAN

A 30-year-old North Lima man will appear in court today after fleeing from police twice this weekend.

Justin Black was arrested Friday and charged with obstructing official business, resisting arrest and a failure-to-appear warrant from Campbell police. He later was charged with felony escape.

Police were called to Olive Garden near the intersection of U.S. Route 224 and South Avenue around 2:30 p.m. Friday after reports that Black was harassing an employee. When police arrived, Black was standing at Burger King, near Olive Garden, and ran to hide behind a car, ignoring police orders to stop, reports state.

Officers said Black led police on a foot chase through the area and was finally arrested in front of Play It Again Sports in Presidential Square Plaza.

Black requested medical treatment for sore ribs and was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman. Officers said they accompanied him to the hospital and waited outside the door where Black received an X-ray. Nurses then informed police that Black left the room, ran down a back hallway and escaped. Police said a perimeter was set up, but Black was not located.

About eight hours later, Black was found by Beaver Township police across from his Maplecroft Road residence and taken to Mahoning County jail.
