Teen victim of Warren shooting still critical

WARREN

A 15-year-old Warren boy was still in critical condition Friday after being shot twice in the torso Thursday morning inside his house on Jefferson Street Southwest — the second time he’s been shot in four months.

Andrew A. Davis was taken to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, then transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

Police said he was in critical condition the last time they talked to family members Thursday evening. The hospital had no record of Davis on Friday.

Detectives say Davis and his brother, DeVaughn Raymond, 22, were unable to provide much information about the individuals who shot the boy.

Ambulance personnel found Davis in the back seat of Raymond’s car on Market Street, after the car broke down as Raymond tried to drive his brother to the hospital.

At 3 a.m. Aug. 4, personnel at St. Joseph Health Center reported that Davis had been brought to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Davis told police he was walking on Highland Avenue Southwest toward the Jefferson Street residence when a vehicle pulled up containing three males who got out of the car and one of them shot him.

Davis’ stepfather took him to the hospital that night.

On Jan. 28, 2010, when Davis was 13, he was arrested at the former Western Reserve Middle School and charged in juvenile court with possession of drugs on school property.

A school employee told police he saw drugs fall from Davis’ pocket and fall on the floor in the lunchroom.
