The family, friends, staff, and residents of Boardman Shepherd of the Valley gathered on Dec. 8 to celebrate their annual Holly Jolly Christmas Party.
The festivities offered guests a chance to enjoy great food and entertainment.
Shepherd of the Valley staff were easily found at the event because of their cheery, bright Christmas sweaters.
“Employees are required to wear Christmas gear at the party each year. It can be a festive T-shirt or it can be the ugliest sweater they can find, but we definitely think the louder, the better,” said associate director Rich Limongi, with a laugh.
The Boardman facility focused on the joy of food in their holiday celebration. Guests traveled to themed food stations during the party, enjoying pizza, fruit and vegetables, hot bite-sized snacks, and cheese and crackers.
The food tour ended with dessert in Shepherd of the Valley’s activity room. Guests enjoyed Christmas cookies and large slices of cheesecake as they were entertained by singer Steve Fazzini and tuba players from the Youngstown State University’s Dana School of Music.
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus were present at the party to hear wishes from children at the event, but adults were welcomed to share their wishes with St. Nick as well.
