Trumbull Dems suggest Infante gets elections seat

WARREN

The Trumbull County Democratic Party Central Committee has recommended that Ralph Infante, Niles mayor, return to his former seat on the Trumbull County Board of Elections for the last two months of the term.

The recommendation goes to the Ohio Secretary of State, who makes the final decision. The term expires Feb. 29, 2012.

Infante served the first three years of the current term, then resigned Jan. 31, 2011, to run for re-election as Niles mayor.

After a failed attempt by Trumbull County Democratic Party Chairman Dan Polivka to be appointed to the position, Sandra Stabile Harwood was appointed by the secretary of state and had the seat from March 2011 until Dec. 15, 2011.

That was when she resigned to run in the 2012 election for Trumbull County Family Court judge.
