Ohio Nativity display becomes scene of lamb birth

CINCINNATI

A lamb has been born unto a Cincinnati Nativity display.

The Krohn Conservatory says that a night watchman oversaw the birth Christmas Eve to one of the sheep that was part of the live-animal display.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that conservatory officials say the birthing went well and the mother and lamb were doing fine. The conservatory’s director says they are thinking of calling the female lamb “Merry,” for “Merry Little Christmas.”

The lamb has yet to be given a formal name.

Police: Pa. woman used baby stroller to steal items

AMBRIDGE, Pa.

Police say a western Pennsylvania woman used a babyless stroller like a shopping cart when she tried to steal more than 100 items worth $529 from a western Pennsylvania drugstore.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for 46-year-old Jill Stumpf, of Ambridge, who faces a preliminary hearing today for retail theft. Her listed phone was disconnected Tuesday.

Police in Ambridge say Stumpf filled her coat as well as some baby clothes in the stroller with stolen items at a Rite-Aid store Dec. 21. Police say a can of soup fell out of the sleeve of a jacket stuffed with merchandise as though a baby was inside.

Acting Chief Jimmy Mann says Stumpf identified herself as “Abracadabra” when she was arrested, to which he responded, “Well, my name is Hocus Pocus, and you’re going to jail.SDRq
