Sen. Schiavoni named assistant minority whip

COLUMBUS

The Ohio Senate Democratic Caucus selected Sen. Joe Schiavoni, D-33rd of Canfield, Tuesday to serve as assistant minority whip.

Schiavoni replaces Senator Jason Wilson, of Columbiana, a Democrat set to lose his legislative seat because of redistricting and who last week joined the administration of Republican Gov. John Kasich. Wilson will be director of the governor’s office of Appalachia.
