Boardman police probe drive-by shooting

Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred early Wednesday at the residence of a family that was threatened Christmas Day.

Officers were called to a home in the 7000 block of Jaguar Drive about 2 a.m. and the 43-year-old female homeowner told police that she heard about four gunshots.

Police found bullet holes inside the residence in an upstairs bedroom, in the ceiling and in an armoire, according to reports.

The homeowner’s 7-year-old daughter and a 21-year-old woman also were in the house when the shots were fired, police said.

The shooting comes days after the home- owner’s 52-year-old ex-husband reported receiving harassing phone calls at his township residence.

Police said an unidentified caller threatened to kill the man and his family in a series of phone calls that began about 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

The incident report was classified by police as telecommunications harassment, aggravated menacing and ethnic intimidation because of derogatory language directed at the man, reports state.

The man said based on the caller’s voice, it appeared the same person was making repeated calls.

While taking the report, another harassing call came in and a police officer answered the phone and heard a man swearing and making threats, records state.
