Ohio cops still seeking tips in 2010 holiday season killing
COLUMBUS (AP) — Authorities are asking for tips to help solve the year-old killing of an Ohio woman during an after-Christmas shopping trip.
The Columbus Dispatch reports Franklin County Sheriff Zach Scott said Tuesday that someone out there has information investigators need.
Police have said that Carolina Acosta and her husband were near a Columbus area mall last Dec. 26 when two men with a gun jumped into their SUV. They were ordered to drive several miles to a rural area, where the men got out.
When Erik Acosta hit the gas and tried to escape, his wife was shot in the head by one of the carjackers. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Scott says the husband passed a polygraph test and has been cleared as a suspect.
