Shown above are Kristen Hartz-McCleery of the D&E Counseling Center, and Wally, a child-sized puppet, teaching preschoolers at Easter Seals in Youngstown. She is assisted by DeLynn Logan of PNC Bank. The counseling center recently received a $10,000 grant from The PNC Foundation, allowing them to provide its Dina Dinosaur program to two preschool classrooms. Hartz-McCleery uses Wally to “talk” to kids about proper behavior, following rules, friendship and other topics. The program is one of several offered by the center’s UPSTREAM Early Child Services designed to help children ages 2 to 8 grow resiliency and emotional health.
