Ohio robber wields sword, tries to steal presents

COLUMBUS (AP) — Police here say a man wielding a sword attempted to take off with a couple’s Christmas presents as they were loading them into their car in.

Authorities tell WBNS-TV that the Christmas Day attempted robbery ended with the robber begging his victim.

According to police, the man flashed his sword, grabbed the couple’s gifts and started running down the street. One of the victims then ran after the man and grabbed the packages. The man with the sword reportedly got away.

A neighbor told the Columbus television station that the victim’s wife let their dog loose to chase the attempted robber.
